Information processed by the calculator
Subject selections, component points, TOK points, and EE points are ordinarily calculated in your browser. The website does not require an account and does not intentionally attach those calculator inputs to your identity.
AI advisor information
When you request AI guidance, the current IB profile and the information entered in the advisor form are sent to the website’s server endpoint and then to the configured AI provider, currently OpenAI or Groq depending on server configuration. This may include subject grades, intended major, target locations, budget information, English-test information, and free-text notes.
Do not include names, candidate numbers, school records, financial account details, health data, or other sensitive information. AI-provider processing is also governed by that provider’s applicable terms and privacy policy.
Feedback information
When you submit feedback, the website processes the message, feedback category, optional email address, page address, submission time, and browser user-agent string. Submissions are recorded in hosting-service logs and may be forwarded to a configured feedback webhook. This information is used to review reports, improve the service, prevent misuse, and reply when contact information is supplied.
Hosting and technical logs
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting services, Vercel may process technical request information such as IP address, request time, device or browser details, and requested URL for delivery, reliability, security, and logging. Retention is governed by the relevant hosting configuration and provider terms.
Local storage and cookies
The current site may read local browser storage for optional developer endpoint configuration. It does not currently operate advertising or audience analytics cookies. Essential hosting and security technologies may still be used by infrastructure providers.
Before personalised advertising or non-essential analytics are enabled, this policy and the consent mechanism must be updated. Where required, advertising will be blocked until the user provides a valid choice through an appropriate consent platform.
Sharing and international processing
Information is shared only as needed to operate the requested feature, including with hosting, AI, and feedback-delivery providers. These providers may process information in countries outside your own.
Data choices
You can use the calculator without using the AI advisor or providing an email address. You can clear local storage through your browser settings. To ask about a feedback submission or make a privacy request, follow the instructions on the contact page. Sufficient information may be required to identify the relevant record, and some requests may be limited by technical, legal, or security requirements.
Children and students
The tool is intended for general educational planning. Users should avoid submitting personal or sensitive information. Where local law requires parental or school permission for a service, users should obtain it before submitting information.
Changes to this notice
This notice may change as the website adds features or providers. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
